Rub A Dub Dub... Dog in A Tub!

Our pug, Ella, is pretty low maintenance. She gets a bath a few times a year and some simple daily + weekly grooming rituals to keep her looking, smelling, and feeling good. When possible, we like to use items from smaller companies that are all natural. Here are a few of our favourite grooming products:

An All Natural Soap Bar

Ella loves a good romp in the park, but rarely comes home muddy or wet, so we only have to bath her a few times a year. When she does go in the tub for a splash, we like to use an all natural soap bar on her.  One of our favs is Loyal Canine's Lucky Pup Soap. This au natural soap bar is so easy to use (it even comes with a rope attached).  It lathers up well and smells great! If you haven't tried a bar soap on your dog, we would highly recommend it! Why you might ask? Well, they have natural cleaning ingredients and nourishing oils that are great for your dog's coat and skin.

Skin Balms

One of Ella's daily grooming rituals is to get a dab of snout balm on her nose. We love The Natural Dog Company's Snout Soother.  It is made of a blend of organic, vegan, nourishing, healing and moisturizing ingredients – carefully selected for optimal dog nose healing benefits. This balm, keeps her nose moisturized and crack free! They also make a great paw soother too! 

General Cleaning

There are a few general grooming products we use with Ella. She gets brushed a few times a week with a slicker brush (depending on your dog's coat they may require a different kind of brush), and she gets her teeth brushed daily.

One of our favourite new discoveries is an all natural ear cleaner. Ella has had a history of ear infections, so we monitor her ear health regularly. One of her ear's can get a lot of wax in it, so every so often we add a drop of Good Girl Good Boy's All Natural Ear Cleaner in it. It smells amazing, cleans her ear naturally, and has seemed to keep ear infections at bay!
