Wholesome Canine & The Scent Den

The Scent Den

Wholesome Canine

2096 Dundas Street West
Toronto, ON

Wholesome Canine prides itself on being the first, true health and wellness store for dogs in Toronto. They source only the best quality food, supplements and treats to ensure their customers are getting products they can trust and that will help their pets thrive. The shop offers a range of services including nutrition counselling, private behaviour coaching, Bowen therapy, as well as, hosting talks and workshops on all aspects of dog life. Wholesome Canine recently expanded their space to include their newest endeavour, The Scent Den.

THE SCENT DEN

The Scent Den is a safe and comfortable space located at the back of the store. It's a safe place for dogs to have a true sensory experience. Filled with fun and interesting things, hand-picked to provide a healthy dose of mental enrichment through the activation of all the senses—touch, smell, taste, sight and hearing.

The Scent Den encourages your dog to indulge in instinctual behaviours like sniffing, exploring and investigating, all of which help to lower pulse rate and bring about a feeling of calm and confidence.

Suitable for ALL dogs, and especially those who are nervous, anxious, fearful, elderly, recovering from surgery/injury, or intolerant of extreme temperatures.

If you are in the Toronto area, you can book a visit at The Scent Den here! A 45min session is $25, or book 3 sessions for $70.

ELLA & THE SCENT DEN

We have a snuffle mat at home for Ella, and she loves exploring it for hidden treats. Because she loves her at home scent work, we thought we would give the Scent Den a try. Well, to say she loved it would be an understatement. She spend 45 solid minutes exploring every trace of that room. For a senior pug with mobility issues, she took the room at her own pace, but definitely got a workout. She hopped up on a raised bed, tried her paw at a few puzzles, took a fast run in a circular tube, and sniffed through several boxes, toys, baskets, and clothing. By the end she was panting. She got a great physical and mental workout. While she was pretty tired the rest of the afternoon, the next few days she seemed more alert and excited on her walks. I can't wait to book her in for another visit.
