Humans of Rover: Valerie & Archer

Say hello to Valerie, Archer’s (@archerthefrenchie.to) dog mom/ momager. If you not already following Archer (click the link above and follow asap), let us tell you a bit about him. He is an almost 6 year old French Bulldog who lives in Toronto, Canada. Valerie started his social media accounts as a fun hobby. While she didn't have any experience starting out, she is crushing it on Instagram and Tik Tok. She has taught herself everything from using different platforms, creating websites and content, and photography. Her "real job" is an account manager for a start up tech company. Read on to find out a little more about Valerie and her adorable pup!

What is your all-time favourite activity to do with your dog?

My absolute fav thing to do is just watch a good movie or show and cuddle with Archer. I’d pick that over any plans. Archer is the cuddliest dogs I’ve ever owned and I can’t complain. It makes my heart melt every time he wants to lay on my lap. One thing about frenchies I love the most is that they always seem to have to touch you for comfort. Archer will have a paw or leg on us and it makes him super happy. If he’s happy, I’m happy.

Pet products you couldn't live without:

There are so many but here are our top 3:

1. Bark industry cooling vest. This is a must have for our hot summers. Legit cannot walk or have Archer outside at the cottage without one. 

2. Baby wipes / waterless shampoo. They get so dirty so fast on a daily basis and we only usually give Archer a bath once a month. Maybe twice in the summer. But baby wipes and SooS’ waterless shampoo (kind of like dry shampoo) helps us so much to keep him smelling fresh and clean in between baths. 

3. Vacuum. Not necessarily a pet product but it should be considered one. I don’t know what I’d do without one. Archer sheds sooooo much, myself included and there’s always hair on the floor. We literally vacuum every day. At our household we use Dyson and it is a must.

We love the bows and bandanas! Rover Boutique products are so well crafted and they have the best prints. We actually only will buy bows from them.

One thing you want to do with your pup that you haven't done yet:

We never traveled on a plane with Archer and we’d love to bring him! We’ve taken him to NYC a couple years ago, but we drove there. Owning a frenchie comes with challenges. We’re always nervous to take him with us when we travel but we’d love to!

We’d love to bring him to Vancouver or California. But maybe in the fall when it’s not too hot! It’s definitely on our to do list!

What’s your dog’s favourite treat?

I don’t think there’s a lot of things Archer won’t eat (haha) but, he does love my homemade 3 ingredient dog treats: oats, peanut butter and bananas!
